About
Our Purpose:
As a church we are reaching out together to touch our world through the love of Jesus Christ. By doing this we are helping bring the lost to Jesus and train Christians to be productive and fruitful citizens.
Our Plan:
Through the Word of God, Prayer, Worship and Evangelism we allow the light of Jesus Christ to shine through our lives to impact Northwest Arkansas and the world.
Principles of Faith:
Sound Bible teaching, praise & worship. We are a fellowship of believers under the Lordship of Jesus Christ; We desire to be conformed into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are not a denomination. We are simply a fellowship of believers brought together by God’s love and common beliefs.
Beliefs:
- We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God
- We believe that salvation comes through repentance by faith in the atonement of Jesus Christ.
- We believe in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross and that it provides healing of the
human body in answer to the prayer of faith.
- We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and according to Acts 2:4 it is for all believers who ask for
it.
- We believe that the blessed hope of the church is the second coming of the Lord.
Our History:
Our story begins in May of 1983 when Bill Rogers became lead pastor of what was then Haven of Rest Tabernacle. Pastor Bill credits his preparation for this role to the training he received by many great men of God including Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, Lester Sumrall and his father Roy Rogers, Sr. Soon after the transition of leadership a transformation began and Word of Life Fellowship (now Word of Life Bentonville) was birthed.
We are a charismatic group of believers who long for the presence of God. Our emphasis is on spiritual development which we believe comes through the preaching and teaching of faith, grace and righteousness. We believe that there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit and we rely heavily on the Spirit’s leading in our services.
Baptism
Matthew 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” The significance of water baptism is that it symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and our identification with Him in those things. Jesus, in His sacrifice for us, represented us. When a person receives Jesus as Lord, he identifies fully with what happened to Jesus (Rom 6:4-6).
Water baptism is a physical act that should permanently mark the mind of the person being baptized with the reality of his union with Jesus Christ. Water baptism gives the believer the opportunity to openly testify to others of his born-again experience. It serves as an outward sign and testimony of an inward grace. The believer has been crucified with Christ, buried with Him, and raised together with Him to walk in newness of life (Gal. 2:20, Rom 6:4).

Worship
Worship is our personal and corporate response to God, in spirit and in truth, for who He is and what He has done. It is expressed by what we say, sing and the way we live. Our praise and worship includes singing and playing instruments. We believe that singing praise to God is a command to all ( Psalm 66:1-2 ) and is a powerful way to respond to our God and King.
At Word of Life Bentonville we worship joyfully and in respectful reverence to God. During our services worship can take many forms. Sometimes it is structured and other times, spontaneous. It can be loud and at other times very quiet. There can be an explosive celebration of praise and sometimes there is a quiet reverence.
